NBG Chambers was founded in 2022 by Nayana Tara BG, an alumna of the University of Oxford and National Law School of India University. We are a Bengaluru-based dispute resolution practice. We represent our clients across a wide range of fora, appearing before Courts, regulatory bodies, tribunals, quasi-judicial bodies, and in arbitrations. Our expertise in dispute resolution informs our advisory work. We regularly counsel clients on contracts, regulatory compliance, and real estate transactions. Our team works closely with clients who include individuals, companies, and government bodies.

Nayana Tara read for the coveted degree of Bachelor of Civil Laws (BCL) at the University of Oxford (Exeter College 2014-2015) specialising in a combination of private law and public law courses such as ‘Commercial Remedies’ and ‘Private Law and Fundamental Rights’.

About Nayana Tara BG

Nayana Tara commenced her professional journey at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) in the General Corporate practice (2015-2016) focusing on private equity transactions. Nayana Tara transitioned to disputes practice and practiced for half a decade in the chambers of Senior Advocate G.L. Vishwanath and Advocate Manasa B. Rao where she had exposure to a wide variety of civil, property, writ, constitutional, and commercial litigation ranging from District Courts in Karnataka to the Supreme Court of India; arbitration and mediation; and advisory work by being involved in strategy, drafting, briefing, and appearances.

Nayana Tara established her independent practice in January 2022, focusing on dispute resolution including public law and writ and constitutional litigation, civil, commercial, property disputes before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, District Courts, Tribunals, Regulatory Bodies, and other quasi-judicial authorities. Nayana Tara has thus far appeared in more than 25 reported judgments including before the Supreme Court of India, covering a wide variety of subject matter. She has been appointed Amicus by the High Court of Karnataka on questions of family law, civil law, and commercial law. Nayana Tara has experience in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as mediation, conciliation, and arbitration. Nayana Tara has the unique advantage of experience drawn from private litigation and representing the government. Nayana Tara is well versed in corporate and real estate advisory, and succession and legacy planning.

Nayana Tara has published in leading practitioner journals such as SCC and Karnataka Law Journal and served on the editorial board of prestigious academic journals such as National Law School of India Law Review (NLSIR) and Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal (OUCLJ).
